How to Keep Yourself Safe and Healthy During Pandemic

The global spread of COVID-19 has altered life as we know it. During the pandemic, it’s only natural if you consider staying active or eating healthy as the least of your concerns. If you’ve had to start working from home, caring for your family, or are simply grappling with the anxiety elicited by this uncertainty, you can cut yourself some slack. You will get back on track in your own time.

With everything happening at once, you may find yourself craving a sense of balance and normality. One way to actually achieve this is to make a concerted effort to stay active – even a few minutes will make a difference. You can entice yourself further by doing things you actually enjoy, like going for a walk while listening to a podcast, or biking around your neighborhood.

These are safe and socially distant practices that keep you even the slightest bit of activity. Physical activity can also help improve your mental functions and overall wellbeing.

Also, it’s important to remember that you shouldn’t leave your guard down at any point. Continue practicing the recommended protocol, and do what you can to boost your immune system.

Stuck with where to begin? We’ve discussed some tips below:

Practice Basic Hygiene

First, a significant concern during the COVID-19 pandemic is how best to stop the disease from spreading or from contracting it yourself. Following basic hygiene practices and noting down the CDC’s recommendations is the best possible route to take.

Wash your hands often with soap and clean water and clean high-contact surfaces regularly. Local governments may have additional information, so keep up with their updates, news, and recommendations.

During this time, you may find yourself working in a space that cannot provide sufficient social distancing measures. In such cases, try using any type of sneeze guards. These sneeze guards will not get in the way of your vision, so you can proceed with your daily activities normally.

These can also be easily cleaned with approved surface cleaners, so you can reuse them without a problem.

Make a Habit of Exercising

Exercising in any context is a great way to stay active and reduce stress. The pandemic can be very stressful for numerous reasons. Thus, it is suggested that you follow a workout routine to remain active even if you are working from home.

Biking, for example, can be considered a great way to stay active as it engages your entire body in motion. Best of all, you can do it alone. All you need to do is clean your equipment with sanitizers after every use. You can find bike dealers anywhere you are, or if not you can also order online and get it delivered to you.

Follow basic etiquette if you plan on venturing out in public spaces – if you respect others, they will likely do the same. Be careful, too, as you want to avoid accidents as much as possible during this time.

Any physical activity is great right now, and you can keep trying out new things so that you always have something to look forward to.

Find Natural Remedies for Better Sleep

As we continue to adapt to this new way of life during the pandemic, it’s not uncommon if you or someone you know develops anxiety or mental health concerns. You may have some restless nights or have trouble sleeping altogether.

It is suggested that if you struggle to cope with isolation, try to engage your senses and move away from negative thoughts. If you still find it hard, then take a break either from what you are doing and distract yourself with an activity that you enjoy.

If you’re someone who finds it hard to sleep with current events happening, then maybe try using soluble CBD, as it is a natural remedy. CBD is a chemical compound that is derived from the cannabis plant.

CBD is known for helping people reduce their pain or stress, making it great for those who often find themselves up until the wee hours of the night.

This is in no way an exhaustive list for staying safe and healthy, but it’s a basic framework to start with. Continue to stay vigilant, hygienic, and up-to-date with the latest news and recommendations. Before any more concrete solutions come in, this should keep you covered.
